Matthew 3:11-12
  11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

From the resurrection of Jesus during the Jewish Feast of Passover, until the Feast of Pentecost is 50 days. The Passover celebrated Isreal's protection and deliverance when they sacrificed the lamb and placed the blood over their door mantle and door posts. The Death angel passed over them. thus the name of the feast, Passover. Now Jesus had become sin for man and shed his blood. Judgement was passed to him and he became sin and God's judgement passed over us and Jesus bore the sin and payed the debt.

John the Prophet said this Jesus would baptize with fire and he would burn up the chaff and gather the wheat in to his barn. Isn't it interesting that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit came on the last day of the Feast of Pentecost, the Harvest Feast, and Peter preached and 3000 were saved. What a harvest!

John prophesied the coming baptism in the Holy Spirit He prophesied it would be a Baptism Of Fire. This fire of God would burn up everything that is not useful in the Kingdom of God.

Why Is The Fire Of God So Important Today In The Church? Or Is It Important?

Is The Power Of Pentecost Still Needed Today? Or Are Tongues And The Work Of The Holy Spirit A Thing Of The Past?

The fire of Heaven is a consuming, cleansing fire. His fire will burn away every work of the flesh!
Ephesians 5:27
    … and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
 
Acts 2:1-4
1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.


The Bible Calls Them Tongues of Fire


Tongue: glossa (gloce-sah'); a language (specially, one naturally unacquired)

Fire: pur (poor); "fire" (literally or figuratively, specifically, lightning)

 Tongues of Fire is an unlearned language given by the Father that brings into the believer a lightning like fire that burns up everything that that is not fruitful in life.

Acts 2:12-21
12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, "What does this mean?"
13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, "They have had too much wine."
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
15 These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out   my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'


This Is The Foundation Of The Church:


The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Neither element can be replaced.

20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

1 Corinthians 3:10-16
10 Because of God's grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful.
11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw.
13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value.
14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
16 Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?


God Birthed The Church In The Fire.

God the Holy Spirit is attracted to worshippers.

John 4:23-24
  23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."


It Is The Nature Of The Holy Spirit, His Personality, Not To Receive Any Glory, Attention Or Credit For What Happens When We Glorify The Father And His Son Jesus.


He Is The Agent That Manifests The Power And Demonstrates The Miraculous Works Of Almighty God Through The Body Of Christ With No Attention Brought To Himself.In The Same Manner, When The Power Of God Is Manifested Through The Body Of Christ By The Holy Spirit, Neither Does The Body Of Christ Call Attention To Itself.

All The Glory, All The Honor, All The Praise Is Directed To The Father.

Jesus said in John 14:13-14...


13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

1 Corinthians 2
When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.

2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

3 I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,

5 so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

7 No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9 However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"—

10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:


16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?"
But we have the mind of Christ.


This Work Of The Holy Spirit To See Into And Know The Wisdom And Secret Things Of God Has Been Freely Given To Us By God And Works In Us By The Holy Spirit.

John 16:12-15
12 "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.

13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.

15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.


He is THE Spirit of Truth
You will never find real truth unless you find it through THE Holy Spirit.


In John 16 Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit as a person 13 times.

The Person Of The Holy Spirit Is Not A Truth Stretched Beyond Its Dimensions


The Holy Spirit Is Not The Result Of Man’s Over Exaggerated Mind At Work.


The Holy Spirit is not a conclusion drawn by a panel of highly educated theologians who have stripped away the reality of His power and work within the believer, and reduced Him to a doctrine that fits their unbelief!

The Holy Spirit Is Not The Fruit Of Irrational, Uneducated, Unbalanced, Misled Theological Misfits Either!


Man In His Lack Of Understanding And Lack Of Study Of The Bible Has Totally Misrepresented The Holy Spirit.


Man has taken the subject of the Holy Spirit from one extreme to another.


He has been belittled down to an impersonal “it” and exalted to be higher than the Father or the Son. And everything in between.


He Has Come To Guide You Into All Truth Of The Word Of God And To Bring Glory To Father God.


He has come to manifest the power of God and to convict the world of sin and draw all men to the Lord for salvation.

John 16:8
 
8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment

If He is not in his proper place He cannot do these things.
Only THE Spirit of truth can speak the truth and disclose the condition of a human’s heart.

The sin that is hidden away within the spirit of man is invisible to any human being, but it is completely illuminated to THE Spirit of Truth.


He will not lie to you. When He convicts you of sin, it is because there is sin there.He does this not just to expose the sin, He convicts to bring salvation.


He Is The Third Person Of The Trinity, Father, Son And Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit Does His Work Because Of The Tremendous Love That God The Father And God The Son Have Poured Out On Man.

The Holy Spirit Is Ever Working To Connect Man To God So Man Can Enjoy All God Has For Him.

I Believe In The Holy Ghost

For The Church To Be Ignorant Of His Person And His Mission Creates An Ineffective World Ministry That Preceeds The Return Of Jesus Christ.
It Is Time Now For The Person Of The Holy Spirit To Be Understood In A Greater Way By The Church Today.
Many Have Taught On The Gifts Of The Spirit And The Fruit Of The Spirit But There Is A Void When It Comes To An Understanding Of The Person Of The Holy Spirit.
The Study Of Deity Is The Highest Theme Of Human Study.The Study Of The Third Person Of The Trinity Has Had The Least Attention Of The Three.No Truth Is So Necessary To Be Taught, And No Truth Has Suffered Such Persecution. He Is Just As Much A Person As Jesus, Just As Much A Person As The Father.But He Has Been So Resisted And So Silenced In The Believers Life By The Religious Hierarchy.Studying The Highest Order Of Deity; Father, Son And Holy Spirit Is A Tall Order.When We Receive A New Dimension Of Truth We Receive A New Dimension Of Power.To Study The Deity Is To Study The Highest Order, And Can Only Be Illuminated To Us By The Holy Spirit.

Trying to analyze and define Father God, trying to explain the full story of incarnation, how the Son of the Most High God came here to save us,and how one day, in Heaven, we will meet, face to face Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, is not a work of the flesh, it is a work led by and empowered by the Holy Spirit!

The Holy Spirit Has Done All This By Revealing Truth And We Have These Truths And Promises In The Bible.But We Must Study Him And Know Him.We Must Know His Personality, His Attributes, His Nature, His Character And Ways.

The Holy Spirit Is Not A Hypothetical Philosophy.

The Holy Spirit Is Not An Impersonal Force.

We Must See Him As A Person.

We Must Know Who He Is, What He Is And What He Will Do For You.


We Must Have A Personal Confrontation With Him.
What Has Happened To You, Have You Had A Personal Confrontation?


In Other Words, Have You Ever Met The Holy Spirit On A Personal Basis, Spirit To Spirit, And Did That Encounter End With Him Indwelling You?

John 14:15-18
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments.  16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

The Sole Source Of Information Is The Bible On The Third Person Of The Trinity, The Holy Spirit.


This Planet Is Under The Authority Of God And Can Be Divided Into 3 Dispensations

(DISPENSATION: The method according to which God carries out His purposes towards men.}

At creation we see the Dispensation of the Father. His Dispensation created man, man sinned, the plan to redeem man began, the law was given.

The next Dispensation was that of the son Jesus Christ who came to pay the debt of sin and redeem fallen man from sin. On the day when Jesus was taken up to Heaven, this is what He said to his disciples:

Acts 1:7-11
7 He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."


When Jesus was on this planet he told his disciples in Acts 1:8….

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

The Holy Spirit Is The Director Of This Present Dispensation Of Grace.
 
We Must Know Him.

He Is Not Just Doctrine.


This Is The Final Dispensation Of Man’s Legal Rule Of This Planet.

The Next Dispensation Is 1000 Years Of Kingdom Rule By Jesus Christ When He Returns.
But This Age Is The Time When Man By The Power Of The Holy Spirit Within Is Ruling This Planet.

The Upper Room Was The Incubator Of The Christian Church.

We Are The Children Of The Dispensation Of The Holy Spirit And We Need To Know Him More As The End Of This Dispensation Grows Closer.

We May Know More About The Dispensations That Were Before Us Or That Are Coming But Are Ignorant Of Our Own.
The work of the Holy Spirit is so vast. Not only did Jesus say He would remind us of everything He had said but that He would show us things to come. It could be the gifts of the spirit may not be fully used until we know the giver more. We may not know the fruit of the spirit like we should until we know the giver of the fruit.

Paul said he didn’t know Jesus in the flesh, he knew him in the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:16-17
16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.


There is no physical description of Jesus in the Bible.

ie. How tall he was, the color of his hair, etc. the descriptions dealt with expressions and spiritual manifestations


Isaiah described Him prophetically this way…

Isaiah 53:1-5
Who hath given credence to that which we heard? And the arm of Jehovah, On whom hath it been revealed? 2 Yea, he cometh up as a tender plant before Him, And as a root out of a dry land, He hath no form, nor honour, when we observe him, Nor appearance, when we desire him. 3 He is despised, and left of men, A man of pains, and acquainted with sickness, And as one hiding the face from us, He is despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains — he hath carried them, And we — we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted.5 And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace [is] on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.


Daniel Describes The Lord Like This…Daniel 7:9

9 "As I looked, "thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.

Romans 8:16
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.


You see we are spirit beings housed in a physical body.
When too much emphasis is placed on the body and soul the spirit of man is ignored or overlooked.
Philippians 3:2-3
2 Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh.

What we must watch out for is this, there are those who many will attempt to know and befriend simply based on an outward appearance.

There are many believers who may not stand out physically but who are highly esteemed in the Spirit.

Who He Is, What He Does And What Effect He Has On Our Lives.

Man Is A Spirit Being And Life’s Greatest Forces Are Spiritual Forces


The Spirit Of Man Without Christ Is Dead In Sin. He Is Ruled By His Fallen Nature


Man With Christ Is Alive In Spirit And Has The Very Nature Of God Living In Him. The Spirit Of God Is The Greatest Force!


Spiritual Forces Are Greater Than Mental Or Physical Forces


Man Is A 3 Part Being Made Up Of Spirit, Soul And Body

  May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.


The born again human being is alive in Spirit

The Body and Soul still want to rebel, but it is by the Spirit of Man that we control our Body and Souls desires

  9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."


  10 When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

  13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour.

Matthew 9:27-30
  27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"


  28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied.


  29 Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"

Mark 9:17-27
  17 A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech.

  18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not."


  19 "O unbelieving generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me."


  20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.


  21 Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. 22 "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us."


  23 "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."


  24 Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"


Many Believe God Can, They Are Just Not Sure If He Will

  25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again."


  26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.


  The father was trying to put the responsibility off on everyone else. First the disciples then Jesus.


  Jesus corrected him and told him it wasn’t a matter of his ability to deliver the boy, it was based upon the ability of the father to believe


In Luke 8, The Woman With The Issue Of Blood

There Was A Spiritual Force Flowing From Jesus, It Was The Anointing.
There Was A Spiritual Force Flowing From The Woman It Was Faith.

When Her Faith Connected With His Anointing Those Spiritual Forces Together Caused A Miracle In Her Body!

 Faith Is Of The Spirit, It Is A Spiritual Force

“Your Faith Made You Whole”

Spiritual  Forces Are Greater Than Physical Or Mental


When We Release Our Faith, The Power Or Force Of God Comes And Over Rides All Conditions Of The Body And Mind


Jesus’ power was passive until her faith was activated

When faith is released the power of God is released to heal and deliver

  You can have hands laid on you again and again but if you never release your faith you will never receive from God


  You can receive from God with no one laying hands on you the woman with the issue of blood was healed by her faith


Faith Is A Spiritual Force


Mark 5, when Jairus heard his daughter was dead Jesus told him not to fear, only believe

Fear will cause you to miss what God has for you


When faith comes in the front door fear goes out the back door

 Jairus faith had everything to do with his daughter living again


The force of faith will drive out  death

All of Jesus healings were spiritual there was not one healing that occurred without faith


Jesus went around teaching, preaching and healing

He always taught them so faith would come

Mark 6:5-6
  5 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.


Jesus did not go around forcing healing on people

Those who believed were healed


  Romans 10:17 “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God”

  Man receives healing by acting upon the word and that action is called faith


 Healing doesn’t start on the outside, it starts on the inside, in the spirit of man

Acts 14:8-10
  8 In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked.

  9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10 and called out, "Stand up on your feet!" At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.


  The crippled man  had faith because of what he heard, what  he heard activated his faith and Paul saw it, saw it where, in the spirit


Healing Is Of The Spirit Because It Is A Result Of Faith

When hands are laid upon you for healing, or when you pray the prayer of faith for yourself, at that moment your healing is not based on what you feel.Fellings are body and soul based, faith is spirit based and Faith is based in the Spirit. So it is not about what you feel, it is all about what do you believe.

I want to share something with you that is truly from my heart today; something that has

been working in me for many years.

Thirty years ago, Debbie and I were serving as worship leaders and associate Pastors at

Frostproof Tabernacle in Frostproof, Florida. Debbie was the Pastor's secretary and I

worked a secular job. We had no children at the time, and we were seeking the Lord for

our future. I also led one of 3 cell groups of about 35 people on Wednesday nights. God

was using us. During this time the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and said very clearly to

me that I was to not take the Pastorate of several churches I had been offered, but when

the time came, my assignment was to plant a church. So I set my sight on the goal of

church planting and began focused prayer toward that end. During those times of prayer;

however, the Lord would speak the name Okechobee to me. Over and over again the name

Okechobee would come up in my spirit. I asked the Lord if He was directing me to plant a

church there, His answer was no. Over and over this town would come before me, and again

I would ask the Lord had I missed something. Again I knew I had not, I was NOT TO PLANT A

CHURCH in Okechobee.

One day I told Debbie,"this Saturday we are going to Okechobee",she asked, "what for"? I

told her we were going there to pray and see what God would say to us. So that Saturday

we took off and we arrived in Okechobee. It was smaller than I remembered as a boy

growing up when we went there to camp and fish. But we drove up and down every street,

North, South, East and West for 3 to 4 hours praying in the Spirit and in our known

language. Every church we saw we would speak the blessing of the Lord over it. We

declared that the revival fire of God would fall in that city. We prayed for souls to be

saved. WE PRAYED! And then, something happened! The burdened lifted, we were free, and we

went home and God never spoke to me of Okechobee again. NOT UNTIL.....

Sometime in early 2000, maybe 2001, a man of God came to Word of Life, (the church we

planted, by the way), and after several days of services, called me out. He told the

ushers to hold me up and not let me fall. He began to prophecy over me and many things he

said were things the Holy Spirit had said to me and he just was saying them again. But

then this man of God said these words.

"The influence of this house is not just for the city of Bartow. The anointing upon you

and upon this house will spread to the Kissimmie Basin all the way to Okechobee."

Well, I was pretty well blown away. Now fast forward to 2014. Without a lot of detail. I

will tell you I met a friend,John, who introduced me to David, who is a Pastor of His

Church In Okechobee. I went there a few months ago on a Wednesday and preached and had a

wonderful time. They are beautiful people. I love them. They are so hungry for more.

Now they have invited us to come again May 15, a Friday night, for a Holy Spirit service.

Many of our members are going with me, muscians, singers, ushers, intercessors, etc. to

help me. I will give a report after that meeting. But I have to tell you this is

significant for us, this is 30 years in the making and I am so aware that God is in it.

Please pray for me that I speak what I ought to speak, and do the things that are needed

in that place for the glory of God.

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'
 


  30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

  31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.


  We know according to scripture that after Jesus ascended to Heaven and took his place at His Father’s right hand, He sent the promised Holy Spirit that Prophet Joel had declared would come.

The Holy Spirit is at work in the Earth right now and will  be until the day of Jesus’ return for the Church.

According to Prophecy, the closer we get to the time of His return, the more intense the enemy will be and the more nature will  react

Simultaneously,  The Outpouring Of The Holy Spirit Will Grow Stronger And Stronger.

The Greatest Days Of The Church Are Yet To Be Seen


The Greatest Signs, Wonders, Miracles And Harvest Of Souls Is In The Future Not  In The Past

Joel 2:28-32
28 'And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

  30 I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
Blood: is the blood of Jesus that he shed for the redemption of man'
Fire: Is the sign of the coming Holy Spirt on the day of Pentecost when tongues of fire sat on each of their heads and they spoke in other tongues ae they were filled with the Spirit
Vapor of Smoke: Is the glory or presence of God that fills the Earth

These things are happening in the present age. Verse 31 is in the future and will be at the close of the age.

31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

What did Jesus say would happen just before He returned?
29 "Immediately after the distress of those days
 "'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'
 


  32 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the survivors whom the Lord calls.

5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 "At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'


  7 "Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'


  9 "'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'


10 "But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.


  11 "Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!' 12 "But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.'

  Jesus said in the last days the love of many would grow cold. He said many would turn their ears to seducing spirits. He said they would become lovers of themselves, lovers of money.


  The day we live in is a day of distractions. If you want something to occupy your time, attention, something to consume your money and energy, it is available.

  The things of God, like prayer, Bible study, holiness, worship, church, don’t have the place of importance they once had in our society

Ephesians 5:18
    And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit

  The Holy Spirit is always moving, He is active, He is alive but He never acts or manifests without a command from God’s Word or in response to an invitation from a human to come

The Holy Spirit Can Be Grieved, Quenched, Resisted, Opposed, Substituted…
But He Is Always Moving

Even At Creation
We See This
Genesis 1:1-3


  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep,

  and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. (KJV And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.)


  3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.


The Holy Spirit was moving or hovering over the face of the water waiting to respond to the Word Spoken by God

The Holy Spirit is the agent of God’s power
He is the Power of God
But He does not manifest that power until a demand is put on that power

James 4:2
  2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.


  But when we invite him to come, when we welcome his presence and make time and room for him, He will come
2 Chronicles 5:11-14
 11 The priests then withdrew from the Holy Place. All the priests who were there had consecrated themselves, regardless of their divisions.


 12 All the Levites who were musicians — Asaph,  Heman,  Jeduthun and their sons and relatives — stood on the east side of the altar,

 dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps and lyres. They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets.

 13 The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments,


  they raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: "He is good; his love endures forever."

 Then the temple of the Lord was filled with a cloud, 14 and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.


When the Glory of the Lord filled the temple, King Solomon began to pray, thanking God for all He had done


Then the King began to speak the blessing of God over the people

When He Did, Another Wave Came

2 Chronicles 7:1-3
 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.


 2 The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it.

 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground,

  and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, "He is good; his love endures forever."

The Second Wave Was More Powerful Than The First!

Acts 1:8
 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 2:1-4
 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.


 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

People from all over the known world were in Jerusalem to worship and they heard them declaring the mighty acts of God in their own languages

Acts 2… 
 12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, "What does this mean?"


 13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, "They have had too much wine."

 14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.

  15 These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:


17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out (OF) my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

 19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

This initial outpouring of the
Holy Spirit was the
first wave

Prophet Joel said in Joel 2:23…
 23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.


The Day Of Pentecost Was The Moderate, First Wave Outpouring


But God Poured Out Of His
 Spirit Time And Time Again
 As Recorded In
The Book Of Acts
Acts 4:29-31
 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.

 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."


 31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Acts 13:50-52
 They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.

 51 So they shook the dust from their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 16:24-27
 24 Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.

  25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.


 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose.

The first century church experienced wave after wave of the Holy Spirit

There is one infilling, but many re-fillings

Every Time You Pray Out In The Spirit, The Spirit Of God Is Flowing Through You, Or Filling You

This Refreshing From The Holy Spirit Is Another Wave Of His Glory
Ephesians 5:18-20
  18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.




 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,


 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 3:19
 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,


Times:  Kairos (kahee-ros'); of uncertain affinity; an occasion, i.e. set or proper time, Season

Refreshing: anapsuxis (an-aps'-ook-sis); a recovery of breath, i.e. (figuratively) revival:




Affinity: Relationship by marriage.  An attraction to or liking of something.


Our Affinity toward God is our connection to something definite in His time. Based on Acts 3:19 it is stated that after a man has repented, there will be times or seasons of reviving breath or revival from God, based on our relationship with God.
